Born and raised in Luxembourg, Yannick Muller got his inspiration from all over the world. After completing his Master's degree in Brussels, he worked as a designer in Cologne before returning to Luxembourg, where the artist now reflects on time passing by and everyday routine. Like a pictural DJ, he sources his raw materials from every source imaginable: social media, cats, fashion, logos, cartoons, sneakers, or food. Through his daily notebooks, he explores the world through falsely naive eyes. Each page of his notebook drawings represents one day of home office during the pandemic, which lasted 480 days. The agenda is an uncensored witness of this strange period. Yannick Muller doesn't judge the current state; he barely comments on it in a poetic, abstract, or humorous way. Currently working on new material, he is still focusing on a contemporary society dominated by futility and superficiality. As part of his work, the artist has published every drawing on Instagram precisely one year after its
creation, and the last one of the 480 artworks was posted on the first day of the YOUNG LUXEMBOURGISH ARTISTS Vol.2 exhibition. So, his work can be seen as time travel.
