Lib is a Luxembourg-Kosovar self-taught ceramic artist based in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. Born in 1989, he spent his childhood in Mitrovicë, Kosovo. From an early age, he was surrounded and fascinated by the artisans and artists
in his family who worked mainly with wood, copper bronze and clay. After the Kosovo war and the following turmoil, he grew into his teenage years in Luxembourg. He went on to study in Berlin and Liège and has been working in the
field of psychologic-education and social assistance in Luxembourg.

It wasn’t until 2017 that he found back to his family’s artisanal roots when he started experimenting with clay and ceramics. He has since developed his craft and continues to be fascinated by the transformational process of simple clay to
objects through shapes, textures and colours.

Lib deeply believes in the therapeutic power of directly working clay with one’s hands, connecting haptics and mind, to create something by material exploration. He is drawing parallels to the healing process in psychologic social education. Lib pulls in references from his rich cultural background and is particularly interested in discovering materials and techniques without limiting himself to
definitions of art and design.
